Manager, Network Contracting - Cigna Healthcare - Hybrid (VA, MD)

Location: Hybrid; must live within the defined territory of Maryland, Virginia, or DC

Salary: $92,000–$153,300 annually, plus eligibility for an annual bonus plan

What you will do

• Manage complex hospital, facility, and health system contract negotiations covering fee-for-service and value-based reimbursement models.
• Build and maintain provider partnerships while identifying broader value-based business opportunities for the local market.
• Coordinate with Claims Operations, Medical Management, Credentialing, Legal, Medical Economics, Compliance, Sales and Marketing, and Service teams.
• Develop alternative network initiatives and support network analytics and implementation activities.
• Analyze contract terms and project financial impact while meeting unit cost targets and maintaining network adequacy.
• Resolve complex provider service complaints and support initiatives that improve total medical cost and quality.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hospital, facility, or large health system contracting and negotiating experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Finance, Economics, Healthcare, Business, or a related field; relevant industry experience may substitute. MBA or MHA preferred.
• Experience developing and managing key provider relationships.
• Knowledge of complex reimbursement methodologies, including incentive-based models, strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiating, contract language, and financial skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced matrix organization.
