TL;DR
Nuclear Technical Manager (Nuclear): Leading interdisciplinary engineering and science teams developing and sustaining nuclear instrumentation products with an accent on technical depth, design processes, manufacturability, and supplier risk management. Focus on solving complex product-design challenges, establishing best-in-class engineering practices, and delivering quality products on schedule.

Location: Twinsburg, Ohio, United States; onsite role. Requires domestic and international travel approximately 10% of the time. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

What you will do

  • Lead, recruit, develop, and retain an interdisciplinary team of engineers and scientists.
  • Own technical scope and execution for new product development, continuous improvement, and sustaining activities.
  • Develop technical product depth and apply it to complex nuclear instrumentation design challenges.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to improve design for manufacturability and establish a problem-solving culture.
  • Work with sourcing to qualify suppliers and mitigate risks related to long-lead components.
  • Develop design processes and practices, support customer specifications, and manage shared technical infrastructure across product lines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading engineering teams.
  • At least 10 years of experience performing complex product design and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10% of the time.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in engineering and experience leading large engineering teams.
  • Nuclear detector design experience and a Mechanical Professional Engineering license.
  • Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, especially Section III.
  • Experience with ANSYS, MCNP, GEANT, Garfield++, Zmax, SAP, or similar tools.
  • Experience working in a matrix structure and a results-oriented environment.
