What you will do
- Repair, modify, condition, and finish intricately designed plastic injection molds, dies, fixtures, and related components.
- Program and edit designs in CAD/CAM software and perform difficult CNC/NC machine setups and operations.
- Support production and mold maintenance by responding to breakdowns and minimizing manufacturing downtime.
- Troubleshoot plastic injection molding, mechanical maintenance systems, and related equipment.
- Coordinate welding, polishing, plating, and other services with outside vendors.
- Verify dimensions, alignment, fit, assembly, and conformance of completed workpieces.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or technical-school education and 5 or more years of related experience or training are desired.
- Proficiency with common tool-room equipment, including mills, radial drills, surface grinders, and hand tools.
- Ability to use CAD/CAM software such as NX and SolidWorks, read blueprints, and apply geometry, trigonometry, dimensional tolerances, and metric-to-inch conversions.
- Experience with multiple hot runner systems; Husky experience is a plus.
- Journeyman Tool and Die Maker certification is highly desired but not required.
- Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, troubleshoot technical problems, and lift up to 75 pounds when required.
