Lead Product Engineer (Plastic Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Develop commercially viable technical solutions, new products, processes, and commercial offerings.
• Lead product development and implementation from concept through full production, including finished-product validation.
• Explore and apply CAD technologies and tools while supporting documentation and ISO quality procedures.
• Provide formal leadership to Product Designers and Product Engineers, including supervision, mentoring, coaching, and performance development.
• Provide technical customer support, cross-functional communication, troubleshooting, and assistance with special projects.
• Support the development and execution of procedures and work instructions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; relevant work experience may substitute for the education requirement.
• At least 10 years of relevant work experience and 5 years of applicable experience with Creo (ProE).
• Experience with product development in an ISO-controlled environment.
• Knowledge of plastic injection molding, tooling and tooling design, plastic part design, and plastic materials and additives.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to lead, communicate, assess performance, and develop technical staff.
• Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally, including overnight stays, weekends, and extended work hours; ability to obtain a passport.

Nice to have

• Cooperative work assignments with plastic manufacturing companies.
• Four years of experience in project management.
• Experience with FEA modeling and analysis, Windchill or other PDM software, SolidWorks, or SpaceClaim.
• Green Belt certification and knowledge of statistics and Statistical Process Control.
