Field Application Engineer (Data Center Cooling and Power)

Location: New Taipei City, Taiwan; hybrid work format with domestic and international travel of approximately 10–20%

What you will do

• Engage with data center operators, facility engineers, and IT architects to gather requirements for cooling, power, rack density, heat loads, water loops, and redundancy.
• Recommend and configure coolant distribution units, rack manifolds, heat exchangers, intelligent PDUs, and related accessories using sizing tools and engineering calculations.
• Prepare technical proposal content, system topology diagrams, operating descriptions, equipment lists, and compliance documentation.
• Lead proof-of-concept deployments and pilot installations, including demo racks, rear-door coolers, and liquid cooling loops.
• Support commissioning by verifying valve positions, iPDU firmware, sensor calibration, and technical settings while troubleshooting performance issues.
• Advise customers and internal sales teams, train thermal engineers and operations staff, and relay field feedback to product engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a similar field.
• Ideally 3+ years of experience as an application engineer, sales engineer, or in a similar data center thermal management or power distribution role.
• Familiarity with liquid cooling technologies, including cold plates, immersion cooling, and rear-door heat exchangers.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with proficiency in reading engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical concepts to customers.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics and thermal analysis tools.
• Experience with ASHRAE TC 9.9, CE Mark directives, or related industry guidelines.
