New Product Introduction (NPI) Sourcing Manager, Data Center Power & Cooling

Location: Remote-friendly within the United States; staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time. The role requires 30–40% travel to supplier factories and data center sites, including internationally.

Annual salary: $320,000–$405,000 USD.

What you will do

• Own NPI programs for BESS, inverters, solid-state transformers, E-STATCOM, medium-voltage switchgear, UPS, CDUs, chillers, and related power and cooling products from concept selection through production ramp.
• Translate site electrical and thermal requirements into supplier product specifications and negotiate design trade-offs.
• Lead DFM, DFT, reliability, FMEA, prototype, pilot-build, and supplier readiness activities.
• Define and execute EVT, DVT, PVT, type testing, HALT/HASS, thermal, EMC, protection coordination, functional, and integration testing.
• Qualify products through first-article inspection, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and integrated system testing.
• Transfer qualified products, control plans, test procedures, and known-issue lists to Manufacturing Quality and Supply Chain Delivery teams while supporting initial production ramps.

Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience in power electronics, electrical equipment, or industrial energy systems, including at least 4 years in NPI, product development, or product engineering.
• Hands-on experience with at least two of BESS, utility- or data-center-scale inverters, medium-voltage transformers or switchgear, UPS, STATCOM equipment, or liquid cooling systems.
• Experience running structured qualification programs, factory and site acceptance testing, reliability testing, root cause analysis, and CAPA.
• Knowledge of applicable UL, IEEE, IEC, and NFPA standards, including UL 9540/9540A, UL 1741, IEEE 1547, IEEE 2800, UL 1778, and related standards.
• Experience with supplier factories, design-for-manufacturing, design-for-test, ECO/change control, and cross-functional technical decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or power engineering, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with solid-state transformers, grid-forming inverters, E-STATCOM, or other emerging power-conversion equipment.
• Background at a hyperscaler, utility-scale developer, or Tier-1 power equipment OEM.
• Experience with grid interconnection, protection coordination, power-system modeling, liquid cooling, firmware and controls validation, or scaling supplier manufacturing lines.
• CRE, Six Sigma, or HALT/HASS experience.
