Location: Los Angeles, California; may report to offices in Irvine or San Diego, California. The role requires outdoor fieldwork in varying terrain and weather conditions and travel to project sites.
Salary: USD $62,004.80–$130,000.00 per year, plus potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do
- Manage biological and environmental permitting projects from proposal through completion.
- Develop scopes, schedules, budgets, work plans, and financial performance plans for projects.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers, planners, scientists, GIS specialists, and environmental professionals.
- Lead and review biological resource assessments, habitat assessments, wetland and jurisdictional waters delineations, species surveys, and habitat restoration plans.
- Provide technical oversight for NEPA, CEQA, and other environmental compliance documentation.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, agencies, and subcontractors while managing risks, quality, profitability, and delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Wildlife Biology, Natural Resources, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- 10–15 years of environmental consulting experience, including at least 5 years managing complex environmental projects.
- Experience conducting biological and special-status species surveys, monitoring, field reconnaissance, technical reporting, and permitting work.
- Knowledge of biological resource regulations and compliance processes, including CDFW, USFWS, and CEQA.
- Strong technical writing, communication, organization, leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with GPS equipment, GIS applications, and digital data collection methods; valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
Nice to have
- Professional Wetland Scientist, Certified Wildlife Biologist, Professional Biologist, or Project Management Professional certification.
- GIS experience with ArcGIS.
- Experience with transportation, water resources, energy, municipal, or infrastructure projects.
