Salary: USD 70,000–120,000 per year, plus potential participation in an annual discretionary bonus program.

What you will do

  • Manage budgets, scopes, schedules, invoicing, quality control, and delivery for environmental consulting projects.
  • Develop permitting strategies, schedules, technical documents, reports, and federal, state, and local permit applications.
  • Coordinate regulatory agencies, public meetings, stakeholders, contractors, field work, and agency consultation packages.
  • Support transmission, distribution, oil and gas pipeline, wind, and solar energy projects.
  • Perform or oversee wetland, waterway, threatened species, and endangered species surveys.
  • Develop staff, mentor environmental specialists, support proposals, and grow client accounts and new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of post-degree environmental permitting experience in Michigan and surrounding states.
  • Experience managing transmission and distribution, oil and gas pipeline, and renewable energy projects.
  • Experience with federal and state wetlands, waterways, threatened and endangered species, conditional use, and special use permitting.
  • Excellent verbal and technical communication skills, strong organization, and the ability to manage multiple assignments under aggressive schedules.
