Underwriting Officer, Casualty, Commercial Accounts

Location: Richardson, Texas, United States

Annual base salary: $146,400–$241,600, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Assess, design, implement, and lead underwriting strategies and practices for an assigned commercial accounts group.
• Oversee underwriting execution through individual risk and portfolio Collaborative Underwriting Review Evaluations.
• Evaluate underwriter proficiency and underwriting quality.
• Develop underwriting capabilities and best practices through coaching and training.
• Monitor book-of-business trends, emerging issues, and underwriting results, partnering with leadership on corrective action.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least six years of commercial underwriting experience; eight or more years and commercial accounts experience are preferred.
• Expert knowledge of risk appetite, risk selection, commercial accounts products, regulatory requirements, and the local insurance marketplace.
• Strong critical thinking skills for identifying underwriting and financial challenges and making timely decisions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and influence others.
