Biotech Analyst, Seligman Investments

Location: New York, New York; employees work in the office at least four days per week, with flexibility to work from home one day per week.

Base salary: $180,000–$225,000 per year, plus potential variable compensation.

What you will do

• Cover and research public biotechnology and pharmaceutical equities, including commercial and development-stage drug candidates.
• Conduct scientific, clinical, statistical, manufacturing, patent, and regulatory due diligence.
• Develop investment theses, risk-reward assessments, recommendations, and catalyst analyses.
• Build and maintain therapeutic class, disease area, and regulatory precedent databases.
• Develop revenue forecasts, financial models, comparable-company analyses, and valuation conclusions.
• Communicate research findings and material developments in a timely manner while refining research processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical sector through clinical, scientific, financial services, or industry work.
• 2+ years of experience as a buy-side investment analyst covering biotechnology or pharmaceuticals.
• Ability to interpret clinical and scientific data and translate findings into investment implications and recommendations.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
• Valid US work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship.
• Ability to work in the office at least four days per week in New York.

Nice to have

• Experience with private investments and derivatives.
• Experience with advanced data analysis, coding, or modeling.
• Advanced degree such as a master's or doctorate.
