Equity Analyst, Industrials & Utilities

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota; in-office collaboration required at least four days per week, with flexibility to work from home one day per week.

Base salary: $158,000–$237,000 per year, plus potential variable compensation such as bonuses, commissions, and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Conduct fundamental research across industrials and utilities, including aerospace and defense, machinery, transportation, electrical equipment, regulated utilities, and independent power producers.
• Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, price targets, risk assessments, and investment recommendations.
• Partner with portfolio managers and investment leadership on holdings, candidate investments, benchmark performance, and portfolio changes.
• Prepare research reports, earnings updates, sector commentary, thematic publications, and presentations.
• Support advisor engagement, educational events, webinars, and due diligence discussions by explaining complex investment analysis clearly.
• Maintain documentation, governance, and compliance standards for research and recommendations.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in equity research focused on Industrials and Utilities, investment analysis, asset management, or a related investment function.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, scenario analysis, and investment recommendation skills, including buy, hold, and sell theses.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills for presenting investment views to portfolio managers, advisors, and senior stakeholders.
• Valid U.S. work authorization that does not now or in the future require employment visa sponsorship is required.
• Securities licenses or registrations, or the ability to obtain required licensing within the established timeframe.

Nice to have

• MBA, Chartered Financial Analyst designation, or another advanced degree.
• Experience in buy-side, sell-side, registered investment advisor, separately managed account, or institutional investment environments.
