TL;DR
Field Services Engineer II (Aerospace): Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues for airline and OEM customers while supporting aircraft certification, integration testing, and product entry into service with an accent on failure analysis, flight safety, and regulatory compliance. Focus on directing on-wing tests, investigating aircraft incidents, and providing technical feedback for product development and design reviews.

Location: Burbank, California, United States; travel may be required up to 45% with no travel restrictions.

Salary: $104,600–$125,500 per year.

What you will do

  • Respond to and troubleshoot technical inquiries from airline and OEM customers.
  • Deliver onsite and offsite technical training and maintain product support databases.
  • Perform failure analyses, prepare reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Lead new product Entry into Service programs, in-service evaluations, aircraft certification, and integration testing.
  • Direct on-wing tests, resolve complex technical issues, and provide feedback to design engineers.
  • Support flight safety and accident investigations, product development, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience, or an associate degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent associate-degree experience pathway.
  • Working knowledge of airline products and support requirements, aircraft and shop-level maintenance, MS Project, FRACAS, and applicable aviation regulations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Driver’s license required; the role may involve an FAA-sensitive position, government security investigation, classified-information access, and random drug screening.
  • Where controlled data or information access is required, only US Persons will be considered under ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

  • FAA Certified Repairman certification, including Airframe & Powerplant license.
  • Foreign language knowledge and experience working across cultures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Visio, and Minitab.
