Focus on coordinating test activities, analyzing propulsion-system results, managing program schedules and budgets, and interfacing with government customers.

Location: Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama, United States; travel as needed.

Salary: $74,000–$80,000 annually.

What you will do

  • Plan, execute, and analyze ground-based static fire tests for solid, liquid, and hybrid rocket propulsion systems.
  • Verify propulsion-system performance, safety, and mission-assurance requirements before flight operations.
  • Interface with government customers and other agency representatives.
  • Manage schedules and budgets for supported programs.
  • Travel as needed to support testing activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline with 3 years of applicable engineering experience, or a master’s degree with 1 year of experience, or a PhD with 2 years of experience.
  • Experience designing, constructing, and testing rocket motor systems.
  • U.S. citizenship and an existing or obtainable DoD security clearance are required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Strong organization, time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills.

Nice to have

  • Test conductor experience with military systems.
  • Mechanical or electrical design experience, including test equipment and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of telemetry, instrumentation, rocket motor systems, or test and evaluation.
  • Customer relationship management experience.
