Sr. Controls Engineer

Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA; travel up to 25% within the domestic US and Canada.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement control systems for automated machinery and industrial processes.
• Define control strategies with project stakeholders and integrate systems with existing infrastructure.
• Program PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices using ladder logic and structured text.
• Test, commission, troubleshoot, and resolve control-system issues while ensuring reliability and safety.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, vendors, contractors, sales, manufacturing, and assembly.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement and technology evaluation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Controls Engineering or a similar field.
• 5+ years of control systems engineering experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency with PLC programming platforms such as Allen-Bradley or Siemens and HMI development.
• Understanding of control-system theory, including PID control, motion control, and feedback mechanisms.
• Experience with Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, hardware/software integration, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work in the USA and travel up to 25% domestically in the US and Canada.
