Electrical Engineer III - Controls (Automation & Controls)

What you will do

• Develop, manage, and execute CAPEX projects covering automation and control systems.
• Identify control-system improvement opportunities, analyze data, and implement efficiency solutions.
• Configure, standardize, and optimize control systems for equipment and industrial processes.
• Provide technical support, work with maintenance to resolve breakdowns, and liaise with end users, system developers, and OEMs.
• Supervise control-system installation, testing, and commissioning while managing project costs, schedules, and budgets.
• Develop business cases for automation and control upgrades that improve throughput and reduce process costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in controls and automation; steel automation experience is required.
• Required experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and AC/DC drives.
• Knowledge of control-system configuration, automated equipment, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rockwell and Siemens controllers.
• Experience with Aveva InTouch.
• Expertise with EtherNet/IP, Industrial Ethernet, Profibus, or CAN networks.
• Knowledge of robotics, material handling, and lean principles.
