Senior Controls Engineer (PLC)

What you will do

• Lead engineering activities across planning, design, programming, purchasing, integration, testing, commissioning, and training for automated control systems.
• Develop user requirement specifications, automation concepts, and architectural designs for bottle, vial, and cartridge handling, filling, capping, labeling, and palletizing equipment.
• Design and program PLCs, robotics, HMIs, machine vision, motion control, and safety systems.
• Coordinate with Beckman factories, external equipment suppliers, and system integrators on budgets, schedules, installation, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Support Hebron manufacturing operations and equipment while ensuring technical and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechatronics, or automation with 5+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 2+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in PLC programming, including ladder logic and structured text.
• Experience with AC/DC drives, servo motors, HMIs, machine vision, and safety systems.
• Ability to lead automation objectives including debugging, installation, equipment commissioning, and training.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a proactive approach to process optimization and problem-solving.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with complex mechanical systems and CAD modeling.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation ControlLogix, Cognex vision systems, and industrial robotics.
• Experience integrating PLC and SCADA systems, computer networking, TCP/IP, and Ethernet/IP industrial fieldbus architectures.
