Principal Controls Engineer

Location: McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, United States; the role combines office duties with field and production work and requires up to 20% travel.

Salary: $92,600–$154,400 per year.

What you will do

• Lead factory control systems projects as a subject matter expert, collaborating with Digital Technology and Operations teams.
• Design and build control panels, schematics, controls layouts, bills of materials, and other electrical documentation.
• Develop and implement PLC, SCADA, HMI, and related control system applications.
• Lead PFMEAs, test case development, project startups, equipment upgrades, and retrofits.
• Perform customer and end-user training, field troubleshooting, and Level 3 plant support.
• Define and enforce standards for components, electrical systems, programming, project startups, and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least five years of relevant experience.
• Experience with electrical and automation components, circuits, standards, and common practices.
• Experience developing control system code with PLCs, SCADA, and HMIs; Rockwell PLCs, VFDs, and Ignition EDGE are relevant technologies.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, SQL, networking, safety controllers, servo drives, and motors.
• Ability to work across office, field, and production environments, including standing, walking on shop floors, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
