Controls Engineer (Industrial Automation)

What you will do

• Commission, test, troubleshoot, and debug control systems for packaging and automated equipment.
• Develop PLC, HMI, and motion control programs for assigned projects.
• Create electrical design packages with bills of materials, drawings, layouts, and control panel schematics.
• Review design documentation and parts lists for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
• Support service teams and customers in the field, including commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
• Collaborate with mechanical design and manufacturing teams while coordinating multiple engineering projects.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in controls engineering, electrical engineering, automation, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Rockwell Automation RSLogix 500 and RSLogix 5000.
• Experience designing electrical schematics and control panel layouts with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar software.
• Working knowledge of industrial automation components, including pneumatics, I/O devices, AC/DC drives, servo systems, HMIs, motion control, network communications, and industrial control systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred, or equivalent education and professional experience.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
