Maintenance Technician - Portland (Pipeline Operations)

Location: Onsite in Portland, Oregon, United States. The role includes occasional overnight travel, regional assignments, outdoor field work, and 24-hour emergency call-outs.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and calibrate pumps, motors, valves, meters, tank gauging equipment, gauges, and related instrumentation.
• Maintain electrical, electronic, PLC-based, control, safety, fire-control, and SCADA equipment and interfaces.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, lubrication, inspections, testing, startup, and commissioning support.
• Maintain DOT-required equipment documentation, CMV logs, maintenance records, and as-built drawings.
• Support regional and corporate projects, vendors, contractors, inspectors, and other station personnel.
• Train other technicians and respond to emergency call-outs while maintaining high safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma, technical school degree, or equivalent; the position level depends on relevant technician and industry experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, mechanical drawings, and aerial strip maps.
• Experience with refined petroleum pipeline systems and station or terminal equipment is required for experienced technician assignments.
• Valid state driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and ability to pass a Commercial Motor Vehicle physical are mandatory.
• Ability to pass Operator Qualification requirements and comply with applicable federal, state, local, and company certifications or training.
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor field work, including climbing tanks, lifting, walking over rough terrain, working around heavy equipment, and entering confined spaces.

Nice to have

• Experience with construction contractors, pipeline inspection, petroleum storage and dispensing, pipeline hydraulics, cathodic protection, piping, valves, and pressures.
• Knowledge of pipeline operations and storage tank inspections, alarms, and sampling.
• TWIC card, where applicable to the work location.
