Pipeline Technician (Industrial Gases)

What you will do

• Support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of the nitrogen pipeline system and related plant assets.
• Conduct pipeline patrols, maintain pipeline signage and field equipment, and perform preventive maintenance and simple PM tasks.
• Use the AZ811 call-before-dig system, Dig Tix software, and utility-locating equipment to help prevent underground pipeline damage.
• Read P&IDs, pipeline alignment sheets, and wiring schematics while troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical issues.
• Coordinate with contractors, designers, and city representatives; review design requests and submittals.
• Respond to pipeline and plant call-outs and provide periodic night, weekend, and holiday coverage.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Mechanical aptitude, strong troubleshooting and fault-isolation skills, attention to detail, integrity, and a strong personal safety philosophy.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with a team, learn, and further develop technical skills.
• Ability to walk an average of 3 miles per day over rough terrain and work in extreme conditions.
• Must be willing to take on-call shifts during nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Clean driving record required; a service truck is provided. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Nice to have

• Trade or technical degree, related apprenticeship, or relevant military experience.
• Experience with positive locating of underground utilities.
• Understanding of cathodic protection for underground pipelines.
• SAP experience.
