TL;DR
Manager, Venue Planning & Operations-Road Courses (Broadcast Operations): Integrating broadcast requirements and developing operational plans for Olympic and Paralympic road course events with an accent on mobile production, RF transmission infrastructure, course coverage, and venue design. Focus on coordinating aerial and ground coverage logistics, aligning OBS and LA28 stakeholders, and delivering reliable broadcast services under an immovable Games timeline.

Location: Onsite in the Downtown Los Angeles office, Los Angeles, California, United States. Hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak event periods. LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.

Annual base salary: $88,000–$115,000.

LA28 is an independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee delivering the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

What you will do

  • Lead the integration of broadcast requirements for road course events, including the Marathon and Road Cycling.
  • Develop broadcast operational plans covering mobile production platforms, RF transmission infrastructure, extensive course coverage, and redundancy.
  • Coordinate aerial and ground coverage logistics involving helicopters, motorcycles, and chase vehicles.
  • Work with technology partners on audio splits, timing and scoring data, and broadcast technology integration.
  • Coordinate communications, site surveys, deliverables, and meetings with OBS, Media Rights Holders, IOC, IPC, and LA28 functional areas.
  • Align venue infrastructure, operational plans, approvals, milestones, and Games-time handoff across internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience; 7+ years in broadcast production and operations is preferred.
  • Significant experience managing large-scale road course events such as marathons or cycling races, or similarly complex mobile live productions.
  • Experience working with international broadcast organizations providing global coverage.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple functional areas and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in the Downtown Los Angeles office.
