Test Technician III (Aerospace and Defense)

Location: Sparks, Nevada, United States; onsite work with potentially hazardous or loud environments and possible travel.

What you will do

• Lead advanced testing processes for equipment and enhance product assurance.
• Develop, optimize, implement, and maintain testing methodologies, test plans, and procedures.
• Conduct fault isolation, troubleshooting, failure analysis, and corrective actions.
• Analyze and document test results using computer-based tools.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve product quality.
• Mentor, train, and support the onboarding of junior and intermediate technicians.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of technician or related experience; 5 years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• Ability to interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications.
• Thorough understanding of test concepts and techniques.
• Progressive experience with laboratory test, calibration, and measurement equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and perform hands-on troubleshooting requiring hand and finger dexterity.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Associate's degree focused on electronics.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 test standards and regulatory compliance.
• Manufacturing experience or a background in aerospace, defense, the U.S. Department of Defense, or the U.S. military.
• Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
