Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer (Data Center)

Location: Reynosa, Mexico; onsite

What you will do

• Apply structural analysis, DFM, DFA, and related engineering methods to size components and develop product and process designs.
• Lead local product development from concept through prototyping, production, NPD, NPI, sustaining, and design-for-customization projects.
• Conduct FEA, FMEA, and other simulations and analyses to validate product performance and reliability.
• Coordinate complex development schedules, critical issues, testing protocols, certifications, and third-party testing.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, testing, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and support manufacturing improvements and product launches.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; mechanical engineering preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and project management preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish are required.
• Experience with data center cabinets and environmental considerations.
• Experience with SolidWorks or a similar 3D CAD system and CAD simulation tools such as FEA.
• Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing, rapid prototyping, GD&T, mechanical and material properties, metallurgical processes, DFMEA, DFM, RCCM, and engineering drawing standards.
