Sr Mechanical Engineer

Location: Denton, Texas, USA; onsite work in a manufacturing environment with approximately 10–25% domestic travel.

What you will do

• Lead mechanical engineering for new product development and customer-specific projects, owning scope, schedules, risks, and deliverables.
• Translate customer requirements and system specifications into precision mechanical and electro-mechanical designs.
• Design and validate gear trains, bearings, seals, housings, frames, motion systems, thermal components, structural parts, and interfaces with motors, sensors, cables, and control electronics.
• Lead PDR, CDR, and DFMEA design reviews and ensure designs are ready for manufacturing.
• Perform tolerance analysis, fit and function verification, hand calculations, FEA, fatigue, and thermal analyses.
• Support prototypes, testing, manufacturing improvements, supplier qualification, field troubleshooting, corrective actions, and engineering documentation release.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of mechanical engineering experience with industrial, automation, or electro-mechanical products.
• Experience leading projects or serving as a technical lead, including taking products from concept through production.
• Strong proficiency with 3D CAD, such as SolidWorks, and PDM systems.
• Experience with machining, sheet metal, castings, weldments, assemblies, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mechanical fundamentals.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing and plant environment, use required PPE, handle equipment up to 50 lbs., and support approximately 10–25% domestic travel.

Nice to have

• Experience with automated equipment, welding systems, robotics, or motion control products.
• Familiarity with industrial equipment regulatory and safety standards, including ISO, CE, UL, or CSA.
• Exposure to DFMEA, PFMEA, and structured product development processes.
• Experience in configurable or customer-engineering environments and direct customer interaction.
