Digital Technology Server Engineer Lead (VMware)

Location: Menasha, Wisconsin, United States; regular attendance is required.

Pay range: $92,600–$154,400 per year across U.S. locations.

What you will do

• Architect, implement, operate, and optimize enterprise Intel-based server and VMware virtualization environments.
• Manage server standards, firmware strategy, host lifecycle management, infrastructure refreshes, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
• Design and support highly available, fault-tolerant, recoverable compute services for mission-critical manufacturing, ERP, engineering, and enterprise applications.
• Lead resolution of complex hardware and virtualization incidents, including root-cause analysis, remediation, and business continuity support.
• Build infrastructure automation for provisioning, configuration, patching, compliance, cluster management, and policy enforcement.
• Collaborate with storage, networking, backup, security, cloud, platform, and application teams while mentoring engineers and contributing to technical roadmaps.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in server infrastructure or a related field; seven or more years of enterprise server and virtualization administration or architecture experience is preferred.
• Deep expertise in Intel-based server hardware, VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, clustering, virtualization performance, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, PowerCLI, PowerShell, or Python for infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of compute integration with storage, networking, backup, disaster recovery, identity, monitoring, and container platforms such as OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Working familiarity with Azure, AWS, VMware Aria Operations, Grafana, and enterprise monitoring and alerting platforms.
