VMware Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Design and operate VMware vSphere, vSAN, and NSX environments across data centers and hybrid cloud deployments.
• Build and maintain Tanzu Kubernetes Grid environments for containerized workloads.
• Implement Aria Automation, PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible, and vRO automation for provisioning, lifecycle management, and policy enforcement.
• Manage storage policies, capacity planning, workload placement, observability, and performance across VMware estates.
• Implement disaster recovery and business continuity with Site Recovery Manager and replication.
• Lead upgrades, security patching, lifecycle management, cloud integrations, and troubleshooting across compute, network, and storage layers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least five years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience; the posting also specifies 8+ years of experience.
• Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, storage policy management, and NSX-T or NSX-V.
• Strong PowerCLI scripting, automation, disaster recovery, SRM, and cross-layer troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms.
• U.S. Citizens, Green Card Holders, EAD Holders, and H-1B transfer candidates may apply; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• VMware Certified Professional or VCAP credentials.
• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE.
• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation and Aria Operations.
• Exposure to migrations from VMware to alternative virtualization platforms.
