Staff IT Systems Engineer

Location: Georgetown, Texas, United States; onsite

Salary: $124,500–$182,500 per year, plus potential bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and support Linux infrastructure and server applications for a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Engineer new systems, monitor critical servers and applications, and resolve performance and availability issues.
• Manage Linux services, upgrades, patches, hotfixes, hardware, software, and system hardening.
• Administer high-availability VMware ESXi virtual environments and enterprise storage solutions.
• Develop automation strategies and deployment processes with other teams, including Ansible playbooks.
• Maintain technical documentation and coordinate third-party vendors to resolve infrastructure issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Linux Administrator and experience in complex enterprise IT environments.
• Experience with Linux encryption, Samba, Bash, Perl, Python, patching, dependency resolution, and performance improvement.
• Experience with Linux services including DHCP, TFTP, DNS, and SSH, plus CentOS, Ubuntu, and Red Hat Linux.
• Experience with high-availability VMware ESXi virtualization and enterprise storage such as vSAN, LUN, NetApp, QNAP, NAS, Pure Storage, or EMC.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, monitoring, backup, and recovery capabilities.

Nice to have

• Linux certification such as RHCE, RHCT, LPIC, or Linux+.
