TL;DR
Senior Environmental Project Manager (Renewables & Storage): Managing permitting, field survey, and agency and stakeholder outreach projects for wind, solar, and battery storage developments with an accent on regulatory compliance, project budgets, schedules, and risk. Location: Remote opportunity available anywhere in the United States; domestic travel required as needed, approximately 0–20%.

Salary: $127,800–$163,800 per year, dependent on qualifications and experience; bonus eligible.

What you will do

  • Manage or support power-sector projects involving solar, wind, and battery storage development.
  • Build and coordinate project teams for permitting, field surveys, and agency and stakeholder outreach.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, risks, staffing, and resources using standard project management processes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
  • Review project deliverables for quality assurance and participate in proposals and marketing activities.
  • Support team development through mentoring, training, succession planning, and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental studies, environmental engineering, geography, land use planning, or a closely related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience with permitting processes involving federal, state, local, or tribal regulatory agencies, preferably in wind, solar, or battery storage.
  • At least 3 years of project management or deputy project management experience is preferred.
  • Strong oral communication, technical writing, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, adapt quickly, and manage multiple information sources.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; willingness to travel domestically as needed.

Nice to have

  • Experience preparing and obtaining county or local Conditional Use or Special Use Permits.
  • Knowledge or experience in environmental law, planning, anthropology, archaeology, hydrology, biology, wetland ecology, or related technical fields.
  • Technical editing experience or an advanced degree in a relevant field.
