China Search & Evaluation Director (Pharma Business Development)

What you will do

• Lead external search and evaluation initiatives for therapeutic-area opportunities in China.
• Conduct in-depth technical assessments with research, development, commercial, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support China-for-China and China-for-Global partnering strategies through market landscaping and competitive intelligence.
• Lead multidisciplinary due diligence teams, coordinate external partners, and guide opportunities through internal governance boards.
• Identify and propose deal opportunities, manage project leadership and resources, and contribute to scientific deal structures and contractual risk reduction.
• Help manage the China search and evaluation portfolio and provide updates to leadership.

Requirements

• PhD and/or MD in Immunology; clinical development experience in dermatology, gastrointestinal disorders, and/or respiratory disease is preferred.
• More than 8 years of scientific experience across multiple functions in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong publication record and expertise in drug discovery and early clinical development.
• Extensive connections within the China biotech ecosystem and experience in search and evaluation, business development, or academic technology transfer.
• Experience evaluating clinical-stage assets, leading complex projects, negotiating, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
• Solid fluency in English, both verbal and written, is required.
