Manager Accounting - BGE (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid role based in Baltimore, Maryland; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; or Newark, Delaware, United States

Annual salary: $112,800–$155,100, plus a 20% annual bonus for eligible positions.

What you will do

• Lead an accounting team responsible for recording and reporting financial transactions and executing Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial statement close activities and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Prepare financial reports, analyze variances and trends, review account reconciliations, and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Collaborate with business partners on accounting issues, planning, forecasting, regulatory processes, and business decisions.
• Support internal and external audits and lead process improvement, automation, regulatory, and accounting projects.
• Manage, coach, and mentor accountants while fostering team engagement and professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification.
• 7–10 years of related experience, with strong knowledge of accounting principles, FASB/GAAP, and SOX compliance.
• Experience documenting issues in work papers, disclosures, and memos, along with strong analytical and judgment skills.
• Demonstrated ability to use technology to improve process efficiency, plus effective communication, presentation, project management, and team leadership skills.
• High standards of quality, integrity, professionalism, and respect for others.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement based in Baltimore, Philadelphia, or Newark.

Nice to have

• MBA with a concentration in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification and public accounting experience.
• Regulatory, utility, FERC, SEC reporting, or energy industry experience.
• Experience with analytical tools and artificial intelligence for process improvement and analysis.
