TL;DR
Manager, Financial & Revenue Accounting (GAAP/SEC/FERC): Managing financial and revenue accounting activities, including month-end close, reconciliations, regulatory filings, ERP implementation, and process improvements with an accent on accounting guidance, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency. Focus on resolving complex accounting issues, improving close processes, supporting SOX-compliant SEC and FERC reporting, and leading accounting teams.

Location: Hybrid in Oakland, California, with in-person attendance at the Oakland General Office once a week or more as required.

Salary: $126,000–$200,000 annually in the Bay Area, plus eligibility for discretionary incentive compensation.

PG&E is a utility company with a Corporate Accounting department responsible for consolidated financial statements, regulatory reporting, and financial analysis.

What you will do

  • Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee supporting documentation for SEC, FERC, and other regulatory filings.
  • Research, interpret, and resolve complex accounting and disclosure issues in collaboration with business partners, Legal, the Controller, and senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and improve accounting processes, procedures, workstreams, and risk controls.
  • Support ERP implementation, manage accounting system issues with IT, and ensure appropriate user training.
  • Lead direct reports, set goals, conduct performance reviews, and support employee development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 7 years of relevant accounting experience, including leadership experience managing staff and programs.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SEC, and FERC requirements.
  • Excellent issue-resolution, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to work with senior management.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with regular in-person attendance in Oakland, California.

Nice to have

  • CPA certification.
  • Public accounting experience.
  • Previous management experience.
