Telecommunications Engineer

What you will do

• Support telecommunications engineering design and project deliverables for utilities, municipalities, and internet service providers.
• Act as a technical advisor to clients and engineering execution teams.
• Lead and perform projects involving fiber optic, microwave, and two-way radio systems.
• Develop engineering drawings and specifications for contractor bidding.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, internal engineering teams, contractors, and utility construction crews.
• Establish project schedules and budgets while tracking technical, schedule, and cost performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of consulting engineering experience in the electric, gas, water, or similar industries.
• Experience with EDX, Planet, Pathloss, or similar path design software.
• Familiarity with TDM, IP, SONET, GIGE, RF, Mesh, SCADA, P-C, DNP, and 61850.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills demonstrated through client and team interaction.
• EIT certification is preferred; CAD and MicroStation experience and work with utilities or ISPs are also preferred.
