Telecommunications + Security Designer (Telecommunications)

Location: Charlotte, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, Omaha, Overland Park, Phoenix, Portland, or Washington, DC, United States. Four days per week are worked in the office, with flexibility to work elsewhere on Fridays.

Salary: $80,000–$140,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Develop telecommunications network cabling infrastructure designs from concept through construction completion.
• Prepare detailed telecommunications plans, specifications, systems reports, and narratives.
• Meet with client IT staff to define project requirements and goals.
• Coordinate telecom requirements with architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
• Support project objectives, documentation policies, construction administration, site visits, and project meetings.

Requirements

• Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification through BICSI.
• At least five years of experience evaluating and designing telecommunications cabling infrastructure systems.
• Experience with building construction documents and multidisciplinary project environments.
• Experience with BIM workflows, Autodesk Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a PDF markup tool such as Bluebeam.
• Ability to manage deadlines across multiple projects and travel for meetings, site visits, and interviews.

Nice to have

• Experience at a consulting engineering or architecture/engineering firm as a telecom cabling infrastructure designer.
• Experience with sustainable building design and relevant building sectors such as education, healthcare, justice, civic, sports, or workplace.
• University degree in telecommunications design, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
