TL;DR
Systems Engineer II (Aerospace): Developing and integrating aerospace and ISR systems through requirements engineering, MBSE, verification and validation, and technical planning with an accent on systems architecture, risk management, and lifecycle management. Focus on conducting trade studies and decision analysis, leading project tasks, and coordinating multidisciplinary system development.

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; hybrid work environment with occasional travel.

Estimated starting salary: $94,345.12–$129,724.54 per year.

What you will do

  • Perform requirements engineering, systems integration, verification and validation, and model-based systems engineering.
  • Conduct system and decision analysis, technical planning, and technical risk management.
  • Lead smaller project tasks and support larger project components with minimal supervision.
  • Contribute to architecture and design development, technical monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop engineering solutions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in systems engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency with systems modeling and simulation tools and knowledge of requirements management, MBSE, systems integration, and V&V principles.
  • Working knowledge of engineering principles, systems design, functional requirements parsing, derivation and allocation, and technical risk management.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
  • Must hold an active Secret U.S. security clearance and be a U.S. citizen.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry and familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
  • Experience with DOORS, Cameo, MATLAB, or similar requirements management and system modeling tools.
  • INCOSE ASEP certification or experience with INCOSE standards.
  • Experience with baseline definition, trade studies, technical performance measurements, or Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret U.S. security clearance with SCI eligibility.
