Senior Accountant - ComEd (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid role based in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, United States

Annual salary: $85,600–$117,700, plus an eligible 15% annual bonus

What you will do

• Perform monthly and quarterly financial statement close activities and ensure accurate, timely recording of transactions.
• Prepare financial reports, account reconciliations, variance analyses, trend analyses, and recommendations.
• Execute Sarbanes-Oxley controls and support financial statement, regulatory, and business reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners on accounting issues, forecasting, planning, and business decisions.
• Identify process improvements and participate in automation, technology, regulatory, and accounting projects.
• Support internal and external audits, coach less experienced team members, and provide situational leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification.
• 4–7 years of related accounting experience.
• Knowledge of accounting theory, principles, practices, FASB/GAAP, and SOX compliance.
• Strong analytical, judgment, documentation, project management, teamwork, and leadership skills.
• Professionalism, integrity, respect for others, and a commitment to high quality standards.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement based in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.

Nice to have

• MBA with a concentration in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification and public accounting experience.
• Regulatory, utility, FERC, SEC reporting, or energy industry experience.
• Experience using analytical tools and artificial intelligence to improve processes and analysis.
