Salary: USD $90,000–$115,000 per year, with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct environmental project activities in office and field settings.
  • Perform and supervise soil and groundwater assessments, sampling, remediation, and cleanup activities.
  • Oversee field quality control, decontamination procedures, site reconnaissance, and subcontractor work.
  • Document site closures under state and federal regulations and perform risk and exposure pathway assessments.
  • Develop subsurface conceptual site models, manage project data and budgets, and prepare technical reports, specifications, manuals, proposals, and cost estimates.
  • Support mentorship of junior-level staff and collaborate across consulting projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Geoscience, or Environmental Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of hands-on related experience preferred.
  • Experience interpreting geologic data, preparing site models, and performing borehole logging using the Unified Soil Classification System.
  • Knowledge of soil and groundwater remediation, hydrology, field sampling, well construction, and technical documentation.
  • Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer certification, OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification, and experience with Virginia environmental regulations and permits are preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to travel, and ability to pass drug screening, background, and motor vehicle records checks required.
