Northland Transportation Senior Litigation Claim Representative

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota, United States

Annual base salary: $94,400–$155,800, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Independently manage a caseload of complex and technical Northland transportation claims.
• Conduct inspections and interviews to gather information and assess claim validity.
• Interpret policy language, endorsements, and exclusions to make claim decisions.
• Document claims accurately and comply with internal protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams, legal counsel, customers, and business partners.
• Handle escalations and provide guidance and mentorship to claims representatives and trainees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor’s degree is expected for the ideal candidate.
• At least three years of liability claim handling and/or comparable litigation claim experience.
• Seven years of insurance claims experience, preferably in commercial transportation claims, is preferred.
• Experience with claims management and software systems.
• Strong knowledge of insurance principles and terminology, analytical and problem-solving skills, and settlement negotiation experience.
• Insurance licenses may be required and generally must be obtained within three months of starting.
