Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the listed Minneapolis North and Minneapolis South service territories. This is a remote-field position: work from home with a mobile office/vehicle, conduct in-person appointments within a commutable distance, and occasionally travel outside the assigned area.

Potential starting salary: $69,398.62–$99,000 annually, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections and assess damage for residential and commercial property claims.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Evaluate coverage, policy terms, regulations, and supporting evidence to determine claim validity.
• Document findings and prepare detailed reports for the claims process.
• Work with policyholders, agents, and other parties to resolve claims and address concerns.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits.

Requirements

• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, and make well-supported decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and customer-service skills.
• Proficiency with mobile and desktop tools used to document claims in the field and remotely.
• Physical ability to lift and carry items, climb ladders, navigate roofs at various heights, and crawl in tight spaces.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Successful completion of required training, proficiency and licensing exams, MVR checks, background checks, and possible pre-employment assessments.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent property claims experience.
• Knowledge of property insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling.
• Residential and commercial building construction knowledge.
• Water mitigation inspection experience.
• Xactimate and XactContents experience.
