TL;DR
Product Manager, Interoperability (Healthcare) (APIs/HL7 FHIR): Owning healthcare interoperability products covering data exchange, consent, identity, and regulatory requirements with an accent on CMS regulations, payer data, and scalable SaaS capabilities. Focus on translating HL7 FHIR standards into product requirements, guiding API and data exchange decisions, and driving compliant launches across healthcare stakeholders.

What you will do

  • Own interoperability product areas end to end, including strategy, roadmap, requirements, delivery, launch, and ongoing improvement.
  • Define capabilities for Patient Access, Provider Access, Payer-to-Payer exchange, electronic prior authorization, consent, attribution, and supporting platforms.
  • Translate CMS regulations and HL7 FHIR implementation guides into product strategies, requirements, user journeys, acceptance criteria, and documentation.
  • Partner with Engineering and Architecture on API design, FHIR mapping, bulk data performance, identity and authorization, observability, audit logging, and error handling.
  • Guide release planning, implementation readiness, user acceptance testing, go-live, post-launch stabilization, and roadmap prioritization.
  • Monitor interoperability standards and use product usage data, implementation insights, support trends, and client feedback to identify priorities and AI-enabled opportunities.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of product management experience with complex technical products owned from strategy through production.
  • Strong experience in U.S. healthcare technology, payer data, healthcare interoperability, or a closely related domain.
  • Practical knowledge of CMS-9115 and CMS-0057 and awareness of emerging interoperability mandates.
  • Understanding of HL7 FHIR R4, REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, bulk data exchange, healthcare identity, and related implementation guides.
  • Experience launching healthcare SaaS, API, data, or interoperability products and collaborating with Engineering, Architecture, QA, Security, Data, and Implementation teams.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Productboard, and Agile or Scrum methodologies; a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, Blues, commercial lines of business, or prior authorization.
  • Familiarity with FHIR server platforms, AWS or Azure, Databricks, EMPI, MDM, identity resolution, member matching, or consent management.
  • Experience with T-MSIS, MMIS, NCPDP, X12 EDI, HEDIS dQM, OIDC, SAML, mTLS, or SSO.
