Field Service Technician (Automation Packaging Machinery)

Location: Louisville, Kentucky, USA; field work at customer locations with domestic and international travel of up to 90%.

Salary: $30.00–$45.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Install, commission, start up, service, repair, and maintain Texwrap, Tekkra, and SRX packaging systems.
• Troubleshoot shrink-wrap and bundling machinery, identify root causes, and resolve operational issues in-house and at customer sites.
• Integrate packaging systems with other OEM equipment and perform mechanical, electrical, PLC, kit installation, and servo drive modifications.
• Train customer and in-house personnel on equipment setup, operation, maintenance, and repair.
• Document installations, warranty repairs, machine performance, issues, and product improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate daily with the service coordinator and service manager to close field issues and obtain customer approval.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience repairing and troubleshooting packaging equipment.
• Extensive Allen-Bradley PLC, servo, and HMI programming experience, including CompactLogix, MicroLogix, and PanelView.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Emerson, HMIs, temperature controllers, servo systems, and motion controls.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components, plus written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 90%, including weekends when necessary; employment eligibility in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Two-year degree or certificate in Industrial Automation or Industrial Electronics.
• Previous experience with packaging equipment and conveyor systems.
