Advanced Automation Maintenance Technician (PLC)

Salary: $38.47–$43.27 per hour

What you will do

• Diagnose, repair, and optimize high-volume automated manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, PLC/HMI, robotics, vision, and motion-control systems to minimize downtime.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
• Support installation, commissioning, and qualification of new or upgraded equipment.
• Maintain technical documentation and collaborate with engineers, technicians, and external suppliers.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related field, plus 6+ years of experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment.
• Hands-on expertise with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, robotics, vision, and PLC/HMI platforms such as Rockwell.
• Ability to interpret schematics and apply machine and electrical safety practices, including LOTO and NFPA 70E.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills in fast-paced production environments.
• Flexibility to support off-shift or on-call operations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lean Six Sigma tools, statistical methods, and data analysis.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing and quality-system compliance.
• Advanced automation certifications such as ISA CCST or CAP, or progress toward certification.
