Senior Systems Administrator (Unix/Linux)

Salary: $130,000–$140,600 per year

Support the U.S. Navy's Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division through systems administration and infrastructure security services.

What you will do

• Administer, configure, and secure Unix and Linux networks and software systems.
• Manage infrastructure throughout its lifecycle, including hardware deployment and COTS software integration.
• Optimize network performance, resource allocation, and system resilience across multiple operating environments.
• Manage backups, recovery, software, security, and system libraries.
• Identify vulnerabilities, apply security controls, and support detection of modern attack methods.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network performance issues.

Requirements

• Six years of professional Unix and/or Linux systems administration experience.
• Experience with TCP/IP and major network security tools, including firewalls.
• Experience with hardware installation and configuration, operational systems, COTS software, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and resource allocation.
• Top Secret clearance required.
• IAT III designation with a T5 is required.
• Ability to travel less than 10%.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, or CCNA certification.
