Software Engineer 1/2 (Java/Spring Boot)

Location: On-site in Ft. Meade, Maryland, United States. United States Citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with agency-appropriate polygraph are required.

Pay range: $52.46–$120.27 per hour before benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications using Spring Boot.
• Develop scalable RESTful APIs and backend services for mission-critical enterprise systems.
• Design, optimize, and troubleshoot relational database solutions using MariaDB and related technologies.
• Support application modernization through containerization, Kubernetes deployments, and architecture improvements.
• Participate in technical design sessions, architecture discussions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and Agile development.
• Develop automated testing solutions and GitLab CI/CD pipelines while collaborating through Jira and Confluence.

Requirements

• United States Citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or four additional years of software engineering experience in lieu of the degree.
• At least 12 years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Experience developing enterprise Java applications with Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, relational databases such as MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or Oracle, and container technologies including Docker or Podman.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile development practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with Angular or other modern web applications.
• Experience with microservices, application modernization, cloud-native development, or DevSecOps.
• Experience tuning SQL performance and supporting high-volume enterprise applications.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence and supporting software in secure or classified environments.
