Software Engineer 2 (Java/AWS)

Salary: $121,500–$188,500 annual

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance APIs, web applications, and inventory management services.
• Build integrations with internal systems, technology teams, and external vendor applications using REST, SOAP, XML, and JSON.
• Develop scalable and reliable Java services using Spring Boot, AWS, messaging middleware, containers, and database technologies.
• Contribute to continuous integration, continuous delivery, cloud migration, test-driven development, code reviews, and Scrum-based delivery.
• Drive build and release plans, deploy applications to production, and provide production support, including rotating 24x7 shifts.
• Collaborate with business, infrastructure, security, and cross-functional teams on enhancements, troubleshooting, metrics, alerting, and bug fixes.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java and the Spring Boot framework, with experience across multiple technology stacks.
• Experience with Amazon AWS services is required.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, preferably Oracle, plus RESTful architecture and microservices.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, SQS, CI/CD, testing tools, agile methodologies, object-oriented design, and application design patterns.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Experience with Oracle Retail Merchandising Applications, including RMS, RIB, or SIM.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects and using AI-assisted development tooling.
