Senior Underwriter / Account Executive Officer - Small Commercial

Location: Richardson, Texas, United States; regular in-person meetings with agents and brokers and travel required

Annual base salary: $104,000–$171,700, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned small commercial book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex property and casualty accounts, including business owner’s policies and related commercial coverages.
• Analyze risks and accept, decline, modify, rate, or quote accounts in line with the company’s risk appetite.
• Build relationships with internal partners, agents, and brokers to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Partner with Sales Executives to identify and write new business.
• Collaborate with underwriting leadership and potentially train and mentor less-experienced Account Executives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least four years of experience in underwriting, claims, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance.
• Six to eight years of relevant commercial underwriting experience preferred.
• Deep knowledge of commercial lines products and advanced critical-thinking skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills for working with agents and brokers.
• CPCU designation.
