What you will do

• Underwrite and process renewal policies, applying knowledge of coverage forms and rating plans.
• Collaborate with agents and internal departments to quote, accept, decline, or modify risks.
• Monitor premium retention and conduct profit and growth analysis by territory.
• Communicate underwriting decisions and appetite effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor and train less experienced underwriters on systems and product expertise.
• Conduct agency visits and maintain strong professional relationships.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of commercial underwriting experience.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license required for occasional agency visits.
• Strong proficiency in problem-solving, negotiation, and communication.
• Ability to manage workflows and multi-task effectively.
• College degree preferred.
• Professional designations such as INS, AU, CIC, or CPCU strongly preferred.
