Location: College Station, Texas; onsite at the Small Animal Hospital or Large Animal Hospital. Shifts may include daytime, overnight, weekends, rotating schedules, holidays, and on-call duty. On-call positions require a 30-minute call time.

Starting compensation: $16.35/hour for Veterinary Technician Assistant, $19.11/hour for Veterinary Technician I, $20.04/hour for Veterinary Technician II, and $21.33/hour for Veterinary Technician III.

What you will do

  • Assist with the care, treatment, monitoring, and emergency support of animal patients.
  • Administer medications and fluids, collect samples, document clinical observations, and support pain assessments.
  • Perform or assist with laboratory testing, diagnostic procedures, anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Instruct veterinary students, interns, and residents in clinical techniques and support teaching and research activities.
  • Clean, sterilize, maintain, and troubleshoot clinical instruments, equipment, and treatment areas.
  • Manage medical supplies, records, billing entries, sanitation, infection control, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Veterinary Technician Assistant: high school diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience.
  • Veterinary Technician I: associate degree in veterinary technology, biomedical science, animal science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Veterinary Technician II: qualifying associate degree or equivalent experience plus two years of technical veterinary experience.
  • Veterinary Technician III: qualifying associate degree or equivalent experience plus four years of technical veterinary experience.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, alternate shifts, holidays, weekends, on-call duty, and emergency campus operations.
  • Successful completion of credential verification and a criminal history investigation is required.
