Veterinary Technician I (Oncology Research)

Location: Rockville, MD 20850, United States; onsite schedule Wednesday–Saturday, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM

Salary: $20.00–$24.00 per hour

hirify.global conducts oncology research and supports in vivo studies through its Veterinary Services team.

What you will do

• Support in vivo oncology research studies in mice.
• Assess and treat animals with health abnormalities and participate in daily health surveillance.
• Administer study agents through IP, PO, SQ, and IV routes and collect blood and tissue samples.
• Provide animal care, including feeding, watering, consumption monitoring, and general health observation.
• Submit and track animal and sample data, record results in laboratory information management systems, and report findings from incoming animals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in animal science, biology, pharmacology, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong computer, organizational, detail-oriented, and process-oriented skills.
• Ability to follow procedures and work collaboratively in a veterinary services team.
• Ability to perform manual dexterity and repetitive-motion tasks and to sit, stand, walk, push, pull, and lift packages up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a research laboratory and vivarium with routine exposure to odors, chemicals, sharps, blood, body fluids, and tissue.

Nice to have

• AALAS ALAT certification.
• One year of related experience in a contract research organization or similar research setting.
