Transportation Construction Inspector

Location: Uniontown, Pennsylvania; field assignments throughout Pennsylvania

Salary: USD $24.00–$40.00 per hour

What you will do

• Inspect multiple aspects of transportation construction work at project sites.
• Take field measurements and perform construction-related calculations.
• Prepare inspection reports and project documentation.
• Verify that approved materials and construction processes are being used.
• Confirm that construction complies with plans, specifications, and special provisions.
• Work on highway, bridge, culvert, railroad grade separation, viaduct, and water-crossing projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license.
• Previous transportation construction inspector experience or related construction experience.
• Experience with PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, highway, or bridge projects is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is desirable.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work in adverse weather, walk rough terrain, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.

• ACI Field Technician Certification.
• PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification.
• NECEPT Field Technician Certification.
• NICET Certification in Heavy Highway Construction.
