Transportation Construction Inspection Manager

Location: Field offices in Eastern and Central Pennsylvania, based from the Douglassville, PA office; physical presence required at project sites in the Lehigh Valley, Northeastern Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia regions.

Salary: $93,314–$106,039 per year.

What you will do

• Manage and direct construction inspection staff on highway and bridge projects.
• Review contractor procedures, materials, work products, inspection reports, quantities, and payment documentation for compliance with plans and specifications.
• Monitor construction activities, materials testing, certifications, environmental permits, public safety, traffic control, and OSHA requirements.
• Advise clients and construction management teams, resolve construction issues, and help prevent rework, change orders, and claims.
• Support project schedules, close-out documentation, punch lists, quantity reconciliation, contractor payments, and permit closeouts.
• Maintain an active presence on project sites and work nights or weekends when required by project schedules.

Requirements

• 8–10 or more years of highway and/or bridge construction inspection experience, preferably including 5–10 years in project supervision or management.
• High school diploma or GED and relevant technical construction inspection experience.
• Strong knowledge of PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike construction specifications, standards, materials, and work methods.
• Experience with PennDOT and PTC construction documentation systems, ECMS, and iPad-based electronic documentation applications.
• Certifications in areas such as NICET Highway Construction, ACI/PennDOT Concrete, NECEPT Asphalt, traffic control, guiderail, stormwater management, and OSHA construction safety.
• Valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, strong mathematics and computer skills, and willingness to work safely in construction zones.

Nice to have

• AS or BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Professional Engineer license or FE/EIT certificate.
• Knowledge of PPCC or Kahua project management software.
